These lectures are delivered at the Annual Meeting. The topics are of the presenter’s choice and should be an overall perspective of a particular subject. A manuscript may be prepared in conjunction with the lectures, which will be published in the Transactions of the American Ophthalmological Society.

This lecture, is named in honor of Marilyn T. Miller, MD, who was a skilled clinician and teacher. Dr. Miller inspired many as a leader and a mentor, and she embodied the spirit of the AOS. This lectureship is designed to be renamed every few years by vote of the Council.

This lecture was established in 2013 by the AOS Council and is delivered at the Annual Meeting. This lecture was named in honor of Fredrick C. Blodi, MD, who served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa for 45 years. In that capacity, he recruited and promoted talented students and faculty, enjoying their individual successes. Dr. Blodi embodied the spirit of the AOS. This lectureship honors a mid-career AOS member.
